THE Emerald township in Rawang was a hive of activities during the weekend as buyers and investors came in droves and the latest phase of semi-detached and link homes were quickly snapped up during the Triple Fortune celebration.
About 135 units of Amberley semi-detached parkhomes and Coral double-storey link homes with gated and entry/exit guard houses were transacted during the recent soft launch leading to the weekend carnival. The Triple Fortune celebration was held in conjunction with the cheque handing-over ceremony for SJK (C) Kota Emerald.
“The response was simply overwhelming and the popular Coral homes were all sold out on Saturday,” said Promakmur Development Sdn Bhd managing director Yeow Wai Siaw. Promakmur Development is a joint venture company between GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd and Hong Bee Land Sdn Bhd with the former as project manager for the development of the 1,000-acre freehold township.
“The excellent response speaks volumes about the increasing appeal of the self-contained township which will have a new Chinese school and a new shopping complex/Jusco store by the end of this year,” he added.

At the Triple Fortune Celebration launch on Saturday, Yeow, who is also GuocoLand Malaysia’s managing director, said the developer was reviewing the overall master plan of the Emerald enclave to leverage on the increasing popularity of the well planned township.
“We will be introducing more exciting and premium homes, including bungalows and super link homes to cater to the discerning needs and tastes of today’s sophisticated buyers and investors,” he added.
At the cheque handing-over ceremony Hong Bee Foundation and Hong Leong Foundation presented RM1mil each to the school’s management board chairman Datuk Tang See Hang. Promakmur Development also gave an undertaking to contribute up to RM1mil for the school’s building fund.
The Education Ministry had on Feb 11 handed over RM3.5mil to SJK (C) Kota Emerald.
Deputy Education Minister datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong had then said construction work on the six-acre site would commence soon and the school was expected to be completed by year-end in time for the Jan 2012 intake.
The school will have 24 classes and a playing field, among others, and can accommodate about 2,000 students.
The stylish and spacious Coral homes, with a gross built-area of 1,834 sq ft, are priced from RM368,800.
The semi-detached parkhomes, four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, high ceilings and built-up areas of up to 2,357 sq ft, are priced from RM643,800.
As part of the weekend celebration, buyers were given free LED TVs, RM20,000 cash rebates and 88 ang pow lucky dip with cash of up to RM20,000.
To date, over 1,500 houses in Emerald, including terrace and cluster homes, semi-detached and premium bungalows have been completed and handed over.
